Broccoli cutlets are super easy, healthy and a delicious starter/appetizer recipe. A great alternative to a traditional potato patties/cutlet.
Broccoli patties are made with broccoli, potato and Indian spices, give this simple cutlets a lovely flavors and a nice and a vibrant green color. It tastes and looks just amazing!

INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 potato - boiled
- 3 tbsp onion - finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 green chilli - finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
- 3 tbsp bengal gram flour
- salt to taste
- 1 tbsp coriander leaves - finely chopped
- 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
- oil - for shallow fry

PROCEDURE
- bring water to boil with a pinch of salt. add cleaned broccoli florets. cook the florets for 2-3 minutes and then drain the water completely and dry for few minutes
- next, add broccoli florets into the food processor and mince it
- in a large mixing bowl, add boiled potato and mash well with a fork, then add minced broccoli, onion, ginger garlic paste, finely chopped green chilli, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt, bengal gram flour and coriander leaves
- mix well
- add panko bread crumbs to the broccoli mix and mix well. then, divide the mixture into equal parts
- form patties from the mixture, if you are unable to form patties, add more bread crumbs and shape evenly
- heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the cutlets on low medium heat until golden brown on both the sides
- once broccoli cutlet is ready, remove from oil and serve hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup with a cup of hot tea or coffee
- Enjoy!
- do not cover the pot when cooking the broccoli florets
- adjust spice level according to your taste
- add more bread crumbs if you are not able to make patties
- for more crispiness, dip the prepared cutlets in corn flour paste and coat with bread crumbs, and then fry in oil
