Potato Sooji Snack are crispy fried fritters made with sooji, red chilli flakes, coriander leaves and boiled potatoes. This snack is very easy to make and perfect to have with a cup of tea or coffee on cold weather. It tastes so delicious and crispy in every bite.
This instant snack is a lip smacking and all time favorite snack throughout India. It is very easy to make at home under 20 minutes. These yummy aloo sooji fried snack do not need any preparation in advance.

RECIPE FOR POTATO SOOJI SNACK

INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp red chilli flakes
- 1 tbsp coriander leaves
- 1 tsp oil
- 1/2 cup rava (sooji)
- 2 potatoes - boiled and mashed
- 1/2 tsp chaat masala powder
- oil - for deep fry
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup water
PROCEDURE
- boil 2 potatoes in the pressure cooker and peel the skin and then mash the potatoes with a fork or with a potato masher
- bring 1 cup water to boil in a pan
- add salt, red chilli flakes, coriander leaves and a tsp of oil
- mix well and finally add sooji and mix well without any lumps
- cook the sooji until it starts to separate from the pan and it forms like a thick mass
- now add mashed potatoes and chaat masala powder
- combine well with the rava mixture and then switch off the flame
- cool down the mixture for 5 minutes at room temperature and then knead the dough well
- grease hands with little oil from sticking
- pinch a small sized dough and make a ball and then slightly flatten it
- continue the same process with the remaining dough, keep the flattened balls ready
- now for making flour slurry, in the small bowl, add all purpose flour, baking powder, salt and water and whisk well without any lumps
- dip the prepared flattened balls in the flour slurry and then gently drop in hot oil
- deep fry the snack for 5-8 minutes until crispy and golden brown, stir occasionally
- drain the fried potato sooji snack in the kitchen towel to remove the excess oil
- serve hot with tomato ketchup or garlic chilli chutney
- Enjoy!
