Pepper Chicken is a delicious, aromatic, spicy side dish to serve with sambar rice, rasam rice, biryani and pulao. This side dish is great to enjoy during spring or winters. This pepper chicken is super quick to make as it needs no masala to grind and no more elaborate cooking.
This dry pepper chicken is prepared with boneless chicken, especially the chicken breast which is very tender and easy to cook and so it can be prepared under 30-40 minutes. This starter is great for special occasions, festivals, pot lucks or any get-together. Follow my step by step photo recipe to prepare pepper chicken. RECIPE FOR PEPPER CHICKEN

INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 kg boneless chicken breasts
- 4 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 spring curry leaves
- 1 large onion - thinly sliced
- 3 green chilli - slitted
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
- 1/2 tsp fennel seed powder
- 1/4 tsp cumin seed powder
- salt to taste
- 3 tsp black pepper powder
- 1 spring curry leaves - for garnish
PROCEDURE
- heat oil in a wok and temper with cumin seeds and curry leaves
- add thinly sliced onion and slitted green chillies
- saute the onions well until it turns transparent
- add ginger garlic paste and saute well until the raw smell goes
- add cleaned boneless chicken pieces, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, fennel seed powder, garam masala powder and salt
- mix everything well and cover with lid and cook on low medium flame for 20 minutes and stir occasionally to prevent stick from bottom of the wok
- once the chicken cooked well, add ground black pepper powder and mix well
- cover with lid and cook on low flame for another 10 minutes
- garnish with fresh curry leaves and then switch off the flame
- serve hot with biryani, sambar rice or rasam rice
- taste delicious 😋
- adjust spice level according to your taste
- cook the whole chicken process in low flame
- use boneless chicken for better results
- fresh curry leaves gives more flavor
