Walnut Chutney - a quick, easy and healthy chutney recipe and a great accompaniment for idli, dosa, upma and paniyaram. This walnut chutney is vegan, Keto, gluten free and very low carbohydrates.
Walnuts are hard shelled dry fruit used in main dishes, sweets and desserts. It is commonly known as Akhrot in Hindi. Walnuts taste absolutely great, nutty and get mixed well in salads. These nuts are a great source of nutrients like proteins. You can add walnuts in cakes, desserts, healthy veggies, yogurt or meat. Walnuts taste crunchy, luscious and give an exceptionally unique taste in chocolate brownies.
This chutney is prepared using ingredients like walnuts, coconut, roasted gram, green chillies, ginger and salt. It is an excellent source of omega 3 fatty acids. This walnut chutney recipe is easy to make and can be prepared under 10 minutes.

RECIPE FOR WALNUT CHUTNEY

INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup grated coconut
- 1/4 cup roasted gram / pottukadalai
- 1/4 cup walnuts
- 4-5 green chili
- 1 inch ginger
- salt to taste
- water to grind
- 2 tsp oil
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp urad dal
- 1 spring curry leaves
PROCEDURE
- in a mixer grinder, add grated coconut, roasted gram, walnuts, green chilli, ginger and salt
- add required salt and water
- grind to a smooth paste
- transfer into bowl
- heat oil in a pan
- temper with mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves
- pour this tempering over the chutney
- mix well
- serve with idli, dosa, or paniyarams
- taste delicious
- adjust spice level according to your taste
- adding ginger to the chutney is totally optional
