This Express rasam is super tasty, healthy, tangy and little spicy. Rasam is blend of amazing spices, which is high on flavors and helps in digestion. It's an amazing South Indian soup which is light on stomach and high on taste. Rasam can be eaten as soup or with steamed rice along with papad.

RECIPE FOR EXPERSS RASAM

INGREDIENTS
To Grind
- 1 tsp toor dal
- 1/2 tsp coriander seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 tsp pepper corn
- 2 small onion
- 5 garlic
- 1 green chilli
- small piece of tamarind
- 1 spring curry leaves
- 1 tomato
- 1/8 tsp turmeric powder
- salt to taste
- 1/8 tsp hing
- 1 tsp oil
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 red chilli
- 5 curry leaves
- 3 cup water
- 1/4 cup coriander leaves - chopped
PROCEDURE
- in a mixer grinder, add toor dal, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, pepper corn, small onion, garlic, green chilli, tamarind and curry leaves in a mixer grinder
- grind to a rough paste
- add tomato, salt, hing and turmeric powder
- grind to a slight smooth paste and keep aside
- heat oil in a sauce pot
- temper with mustard seeds, red chilli and curry leaves
- add ground paste along with 3 cups of water
- mix well
- cook on low medium flame until the froth starts forming at the surface
- switch off the flame (do not boil the rasam)
- garnish with chopped coriander leaves
- serve with hot steamed rice along with papad or any vegetable curry
- taste delicious

- adjust tamarind according to your taste
- no need to dry roast the ingredients for this rasam recipe
- once the rasam starts to froth, switch off the flame immediately
