A simple and delicious dosa prepared from oats has many health benefits and helps maintaining a balanced diet. Oats has many health benefits, they are rich in fibre, reduces hunger and may help you lose weight. Compared with traditional rice dosa, preparing oats dosa is quick and does not require any pre preparation.
This oats dosa is an instant one. You do not want to wait for fermentation. This oats dosa can be made in less than 20 minutes. RECIPE FOR OATS DOSA

INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 1/4 cup rava or sooji or semolina
- salt to taste
- 2 green chili chopped
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 tbsp onion - finely chopped
- 1 spring curry leaves - chopped
- 1/2 tsp ginger - minced
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 1 - 1.5 cup water
- 2 tbsp oil - for making dosa
PROCEDURE
- in a mixer jar, add rolled oats and grind to a fine powder
- transfer it into a mixing bowl
- add rice flour, semolina and salt
- mix well
- add yogurt and water
- whisk well and set aside for 15 minutes
- add cumin seeds, chopped onion, green chilli, ginger and curry leaves
- mix altogether
- the consistency of the batter must be rava dosa batter (add more water to get required consistency if needed)
- heat a dosa Tawa and drizzle with a tsp of oil
- pour one ladle of batter all around the tawa evenly and do not spread the batter
- again drizzle with a tsp of oil on the edges
- cook dosa on medium flame until it turns slight golden on one side
- flip over to other side and cook evenly
- this dosa will take a little longer time to cook, so be patient
- oats dosa ready
- serve with any chutney of your choice

NOTE
- This dosa has to be served hot
- you can use rolled oats or quick oats
