RECIPE FOR CHILLI GARLIC PRAWNS

INGREDIENTS
For Marinate
- 2 tbsp corn flour
- 2 tbsp all purpose flour
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp dark soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
- pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- 1.5 cup prawns - cleaned and de-veined
- oil for shallow frying
- 1 tbsp corn flour
- 1 tbsp water
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp garlic - chopped
- 1 tsp ginger - chopped
- 2 green chilli
- 1/4 cup onion
- 1 capsicum - chopped
- 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp vinegar
- 3/4 tsp red chilli sauce
- salt to taste
- less than 1/4 cup water
- handful of spring onions - chopped
PROCEDURE
- in a mixing bowl, take corn flour, all purpose flour, ginger garlic paste, pinch of salt, pepper powder and soy sauce, mix well
- add egg and whisk well without forming any lumps
- add de-veined prawns to the batter and mix it nicely
- rest for 10 minutes
- heat oil in a pan, add marinated prawns into the hot oil
- fry in low medium flame for few minutes or until it is cooked and curled (it should be cooked on both the sides) then remove the prawns from the pan and set aside
- in another small mixing bowl, make slurry, for this mix corn flour with a tbsp of water and mix it nicely without lumps
- heat oil in a pan
- add chopped garlic, ginger and green chilli
- mix and saute well till the raw smell goes away
- add chopped onions and saute for few minutes, till it turns transparent
- add chopped capsicum and saute well for 30 seconds to 1 minute in medium flame
- now add black pepper powder, salt, soy sauce, vinegar and red chilli sauce
- add 2 tbsp water and slurry mix
- mix everything together and cook for 30 seconds in medium flame
- add fried prawns to the pan
- mix it together and coat the prawns with the sauce and then switch off the flame
- garnish with chopped spring onion
- serve immediately
- delicious 😋
- dont over cook the prawns orelse it will turn rubbery
- adjust spice level as per your tasty
