RAW ONION COCONUT CHUTNEY | STARTUP COOKING
Onion Coconut Chutney is a delicious accompaniment, which goes well with South Indian breakfast recipes. This chutney is prepared using roughly chopped onion, byadagi chilli, tamarind, jaggery and grated coconut, is flavored with mustards seeds, urad dal, hing and curry leaves in sesame oil. Byadagi chilli adds a nice color to this chutney and it goes well with Idli, Dosa, Uthappam and Paniyaram.
This recipe does not require to saute any onion or chillies and one of the best time saving recipe during morning hours. This is one of the lip smacking, traditional and easy South Indian chutney recipe prepared at home. This recipe is very easy to prepare and cook in minutes. COCONUT CHUTNEY

INGREDIENTS
- 1 big onion - roughly chopped
- 5 byadagi chilli
- 1 tsp tamarind
- 1 tsp jaggery
- 1/4 cup grated coconut
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp oil
- 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp urad dal
- 1/8 tsp hing
- 1 red chilli
- 1 spring curry leaves
PROCEDURE
- in a mixer grinder, add roughly chopped onion, byadagi chili, tamarind, jaggery, grated coconut and salt
- grind to a smooth paste without adding water
- transfer into serving bowl
- heat a tsp of oil in a pan
- add mustard seeds and allowed to crackle
- add urad dal and allowed to change the color
- add red chilli, hing and curry leaves, allow the leaves to turn crisp
- add seasoning over the chutney
- simply delicious 😋
- serve with idli, dosa and uthappam
- tastes great
