RECIPE FOR SOYA CHUNKS MANCHURIAN

INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup soya chunks - cooked
- 2 tbsp corn flour
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp pepper powder
- salt to taste
- oil for frying
For Manchurian Sauce
- 1.5 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp garlic - finely chopped
- 1/2 tbsp ginger - finely chopped
- 1/4 cup spring onions
- 1/4 cup green capsicum - finely chopped
- 1 tsp soya sauce
- 1 tbsp chilli sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato sauce
- 1 tsp lemon juice or vinegar
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp pepper powder
- 1 tsp corn flour
- 1/4 cup water
- salt to taste
- 1 tbsp spring onions - for garnish
PROCEDURE
- take cooked soya chunks in a mixing bowl
- add corn flour, ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, pepper powder and salt
- combine altogether
- sprinkle tbsp of water to soya chunks
- combine altogether
- rest for 15 minutes
- heat oil in a frying pan
- drop soya chunks in hot oil
- fry until golden and crisp
- remove them to kitchen towel (continue with the remaining soya chunks)
- for preparing soya chunks Manchurian sauce, heat oil in a wide pan
- add chopped garlic and ginger
- saute for a minute
- add spring onions and saute on high flame for 30 seconds
- then add chopped capsicum and saute for 2 minutes until the aroma comes out
- add soya sauce, red chilli sauce, tomato sauce, lemon juice, Kashmiri red chilli powder, pepper powder, sugar and salt
- mix well
- combine 1 tsp corn flour with water
- pour the corn flour water into the sauce
- cook on low flame until the sauce thickens
- switch off the flame
- add crispy fried soya chunks into the sauce
- mix well
- garnish with spring onions
- serve as starter/appetizer or serve as evening snack for kids

SOYA CHUNKS MANCHURIAN WITH STEP-BY-STEP PHOTO RECIPE
add corn flour, ginger garlic paste, salt, red chilli powder and pepper powder
sprinkle a tbsp of water and combine well, rest for 15 minutes
drop the soya chunks in hot oil
fry until golden and crisp
remove them to kitchen towel
fry the remaining soya chunks
drain the fried soya chunks in the kitchen towel
heat oil in a wide pan for manchurian sauce
add finely chopped garlic and ginger, saute for 1 minute
add chopped spring onions, saute on high flame for 30 seconds
add chopped capsicum, saute on medium flame for 2 minutes
add soya sauce, red chilli sauce, tomato sauce, Kashmiri red chilli powder, pepper powder, lemon juice, sugar and salt
mix well
take corn flour in a small mixing bowl
mix with a tbsp of water
pour corn flour water into manchurian sauce and add the remaining water
mix well
cook until the sauce thickens, once sauce thickens switch off the flame
add fried soya chunks
combine well with the sauce
garnish with spring onions
serve immediately
