Chow Chow / Chayote Kootu, is an easy and healthy kootu that goes well with any spicy kuzhambu varieties like vathal kuzhambu, pepper kuzhambu etc., I used pressure cooker to speed up the process, but you can cook this kootu in open pot too. Kootu is a curry made using vegetables and lentils, cooked with minimal or no spiced. Kootu is an essential part of Tamil Nadu cuisine and it completes the vegetarian meals. It goes very well with rotis and phulkas or with steamed rice too. Follow my step-by-step photo recipe to prepare Chow Chow Kootu. If you like this recipe, share it, tweet it and pin it.
