RECIPE FOR JEERA RICE

INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1 tbsp ghee
- 3 cloves
- 1 inch cinnamon stick
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 green chilli (optional)
- salt as needed
- 2 cup water to cook Jeera Rice
PROCEDURE
- wash and soak basmati rice in water for 30 minutes
- after 30 minutes, drain the water and keep it aside
- heat ghee in a pressure cooker pan, add cloves, cinnamon stick and bay leaf
- saute well
- add cumin seeds and allow to splutter
- add slitted green chilli and drained basmati rice
- mix well with the whole spices and saute in a medium flame for 2 minutes.
- this helps add more flavor to the rice
- add 2 cups of water and salt
- mix well
- pressure cook for 3 whistles and simmer for 5 minutes and then switch off the flame
- serve hot with potato curry and tastes delicious
Jeera Rice with Detailed Step-by-Step Photo Recipe
soak basmati rice in water for 30 minutes
drain the water and keep it aside
heat ghee in a pressure cooker
add cloves and cinnamon stick
add bay leaf
saute well
add slitted green chilli
add drained rice
combine well with the whole spices and saute for 2 minutes in medium flame
add 2 cup water
add salt
mix well
pressure cook for 3 whistle and simmer for 5 minutes, then switch off the flame
jeera rice ready
serve hot with any vegetable fry, my choice is potato curry
