DAHI CHICKEN | TANGY CHICKEN CURRY | CHICKEN RECIPE | CURD CHICKEN RECIPE
Dahi Chicken is an interesting lunch/dinner recipe which is usually served in the North Indian cuisine. It tastes little spicy, flavorful and super tangy taste and best to served with chapathi, roti, naan, pulav and rice. Adding kasoori methi leaves to the chicken, will be super aroma and flavorful to this dish. This chicken recipe is something different from the regular chicken preparations. RECIPE FOR DAHI CHICKEN

INGREDIENTS
- 400 g chicken
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 tbsp ghee
- 2 cloves
- 1 inch cinnamon stick
- 1/2 tsp cumin seed
- 1 onion - thinly sliced
- 2 green chilli - slitted
- 1.5 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 cup curd | yogurt - well beaten -smooth texture
- salt as needed
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp sambar powder (equal ratio of red chilli and coriander seeds)
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1 tbsp kasoori methi leaves
- 1 tbsp coriander leaves - finely chopped
PROCEDURE
- cut chicken into pieces, wash thoroughly in running water, add a tsp of turmeric powder and wash well
- heat oil in a pan, add chicken and coat with oil
- add turmeric powder and a pinch of salt
- roast on high flame for 5 minutes
- remove chicken from the pan and keep it aside
- in the same oil, add ghee
- add cloves, cinnamon, cumin seeds
- saute well
- add thinly sliced onion and green chillies
- saute well on medium flame until onion become translucent
- add ginger garlic paste, saute till raw smell goes
- add turmeric powder, sambar powder, cumin powder and garam masala powder
- mix well
- add roasted chicken
- combine well and allow to coat with all the spice mix
- add curd or yogurt and salt
- mix well
- cover and cook in low medium flame or until the chicken become tender
- at this stage oil will float on the top
- add crushed kasoori methi leaves and chopped coriander leaves
- mix well
- serve hot with chapathi, pulav or rice
- this dish will be super flavorful and tangy taste.

heat oil in a pan
add washed chicken
add turmeric powder and salt
roast on high flame for 5 minutes
remove chicken and keep it aside
in the same pan, add ghee
add cloves, cinnamon and cumin seeds

saute well
add ginger garlic paste
saute well till raw smell goes
add turmeric powder, sambar powder, cumin powder and garam masala powder

add roasted chicken
combine with all the spice mix
add curd
mix well and add salt
cover and cook in low medium flame or until the chicken become tender

add crushed kasoori methi leaves
add chopped coriander leaves
