This chutney is prepared using ingredients like onion, tomato, garlic, red chilli, tamarind and salt. This chutney recipe is simple to prepare and easy to make and can be prepared under 15 minutes. INGREDIENTS
- 1 onion (roughly chopped)
- 1 tomato (roughly chopped)
- 2 garlic
- 2 red chilli
- 1 inch size tamarind
- salt as needed
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp mustard seed

PROCEDURE
- In a mixer grinder, add roughly chopped onion, tomato, garlic, red chilli and tamarind
- grind to a smooth paste
- add sesame oil in the cast iron pan
- temper with mustard seeds
- add ground onion tomato paste and salt
- mix well
- cover with lid
- cook in low medium flame for 5-7 minutes or until the chutney thickens
- switch off the flame
- serve with idli and dosa
NOTES
- adjust spice level according to your taste
- use sesame oil for better taste

ONION TOMATO CHUTNEY STEP-BY-STEP PHOTO RECIPE
In a blender add roughly chopped onion
add roughly chopped tomato
add red chilli
add garlic
add tamarind
grind to a smooth paste
heat sesame oil in cast iron wok, add mustard seeds
allow to crackle
add onion tomato paste
mix well
add salt
mix well
cover and cook in low medium flame for 5-7 minutes
chutney thickens
