For the authentic tamarind rice, we need so many spices to prepare and for this we don't need anything, just blend with red chilli and tamarind extract is enough. RECIPE FOR INSTANT TAMARIND RICE

INGREDIENTS
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp mustard seed
- 1/2 tsp urad dal
- 1/2 tsp bengal gram dal
- 1/4 tsp hing (asafoetida)
- 2 red chilli
- 1 tbsp peanuts
- 5 curry leaves
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 cup tamarind water from small lemon sized tamarind
- salt as needed
- 1 1/2 cup left over rice
PROCEDURE
- Heat oil in a pan
- add mustard seeds, allow to splutter
- add urad dal and bengal gram dal, saute till it turns color
- add hing, curry leaves, red chillies and turmeric powder
- add tamarind water
- add salt
- allow to boil in medium flame or till tamarind gets thickens
- add leftover rice
- mix well
- cover and cook in low flame for 5 minutes
- Instant Tamarind rice ready.
- serve hot with papad
INSTANT TAMARIND RICE STEP-BY-STEP PHOTO RECIPE
Heat oil in a cast iron pan
add mustard seeds and allow to splutter
add urad dal and bengal gram dal
add hing
add red chillies
add peanuts
saute well
add curry leaves
add turmeric powder
add tamarind extract
add salt
allow to boil
Tamarind extract thickens well
now add left over rice
mix well
cover and cook for 5 minutes in low flame
Yummy Instant Tamarind Rice Ready
Serve hot with Papad
