CABBAGE PARATHA | PATTA GOBHI PARATHA | PARATHA RECIPE
Cabbage Paratha is a traditional North Indian dish. This is a main course recipe which can be served with pickles or curd. It is a healthy Indian bread with goodness of cabbage. It is so versatile and healthy that it can be served in breakfast, lunch or dinner. Cabbage Paratha is quick and easy to make. INGREDIENTS
For PARATHA
- 2 cup wheat flour
- salt as needed
- oil as needed to make paratha
- water as needed to make paratha
FOR STUFFING
- 2 cup cabbage (finely chopped)
- 1/2 tsp cumin seed
- 1 green chilli (finely chopped)
- 1/2 inch ginger (finely chopped)
- 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp coriander leaves (finely chopped)
- In a mixing bowl, add wheat flour, salt and oil
- mix well and then knead the dough by adding little water. Add more water if required to make a smooth soft dough.
- knead dough well
- let the dough rest for 15-20 minutes
- heat oil in a frying pan
- add cumin seed, coriander powder, green chilli and ginger
- saute for a minute
- add finely chopped cabbage
- stir fry on a low medium flame until they turn translucent
- add red chilli powder, garam masala and salt
- saute well
- add coriander leaves
- mix well. now stuffing is ready
- pinch a medium sized ball from dough
- add some dry flour
- roll about 4-5 inches in diameter rounds
- place the prepared cabbage stuffing in the center
- take the edge and start pleating bringing to center
- press gently from center
- sprinkle some wheat flour
- start gently roll the paratha into a circle shape
- place the prepared paratha in a hot tawa
- add a tsp of oil and spread all over the paratha
- flip over and cook on other side
- you can see crisp brown spots on the cabbage paratha
- make all cabbage paratha this way
- serve with yogurt or pickle
