Quick and Easy Indian Masala Tea Recipe

Masala tea or masala chai is one of the favorite morning drink among Indians. It is believed that it keeps the body warm and prevent from cold and cough. A large population drink it around the year along with their breakfast and evening snacks.

Masala chai is a flavoured tea beverage made by brewing black tea with a mixture of aromatic Indian spices and herbs.

Enjoyed by millions in India, masala chai, a spiced, sweetened black tea mixed with milk, is now popular around the world. It is sold all over India by chai wallahs, or tea vendors, who pour the tea from big kettles into small cups. Americans have incorrectly shortened the name to chai (milk tea); masala refers to the combination of spices, which often includes cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, pepper, fennel seeds and star anise. Although there are many chai blends available in supermarkets, making your own is quick and satisfying and the results are much better.

The recipe method for masala chai is not fixed, and many families have their own versions of the tea.
