This fun looking recipe is prepared by rolling boiled potatoes in the shape of a ball and covering them with bread crumbs. Prior to this, other essentials like red chilli, coriander, cumin , garlic paste and lemon juice are added to the boiled potatoes to give them a beautiful aroma and awesome taste. INGREDIENTS
For Potato Mixture:
- 3 medium size potato (boiled and mashed)
- 1/4 cup onion
- 1/4 cup coriander leaves
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- salt as needed
- oil for deep fry
- For Outer Coating
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1 tsp red chilli flakes
- 1 tsp oregano
- For Outer Coating
- 2 tbsp all purpose flour
- water as needed
- In a mixing bowl, add boiled and smashed potato.
- add chopped onion, coriander leaves, bread crumbs, ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, coriander powder, lemon juice and salt.
- mix them nicely and make small size balls out of it.
- make smooth and crack free balls by greasing hands with oil.
- in a small bowl, add all purpose flour and little water and make a runny, smooth paste, keep it aside.
- In a small bowl mix together bread crumbs, chilly flakes and oregano and keep it aside.
- now heat the oil at medium heat.
- dip potato balls in all purpose flour mixture.
- roll them in bread crumbs.
- Let it air dry for 5 minutes.
- fry in hot oil till they are crisp and golden brown.
- To serve the lollipop, insert a toothpick and enjoy with tomato ketchup or mayonnaise or yogurt.
