Red velvet cake

INGREDIENTS :

For Red Velvet Cake
  • 2 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 egg
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 cup butter milk
  • 2 tsp lemon juice or vinegar
  • 1 tbsp red food color
For Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 8 ounce cream cheese
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 2 1/2 cup powdered sugar
PROCEDURE
  • In a mixing bowl, add all purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt
  • mix well and set aside
  • In another mixing bowl, add egg and unsalted butter
  • combine well
  • now add vegetable oil, sugar, vanilla essence
  • whisk altogether to form a creamy texture or until combined
  • in a measuring jar, add butter milk, lemon juice and red food color
  • mix it
  • add the dry ingredients to the creamy mix
  • now add butter milk mix
  • allow everything to mix together
  • divide the batter evenly among the two baking pans (9 inch baking pan) 
  • place parchment paper in two baking pan
  • pre-heat oven to 350 degree fahrenheit
  • bake for 30 minutes or until cooked
  • now check with tooth pick
  • allowed to cool completely at room temperature
  • to make cream cheese frosting, in a mixing bowl add cream cheese, unsalted butter, vanilla essence, salt, milk and powdered sugar
  • whisk altogether to form a nice and creamy texture
  • now remove the cake from the baking pan
  • remove the parchment paper
  • remove the thin slice on top of the cake
  • add cream cheese mix
  • spread evenly to all the sides
  • place the other cake on top
  • add some cream cheese frost and spread evenly to all sides of the cake
  • now decorate with red velvet cake crust and place strawberry in the center.
